The Heart of Yoga: Connecting to Self and Community
And you? When will you begin your long journey into yourself?
- Rumi
•Are you looking to recharge through contemplative and joyful practices?
•Do you crave the space and time needed to connect more authentically to yourself and others?
•Do you long for an opportunity to practice yoga with teachers who support bodies of all sizes, ages, and abilities?
In this special retreat, Rachel Plies and Jaime Bedard- yoga teachers and Integrated Movement Therapy® Practitioners- will lead daily practices that illuminate the heart of yoga. Together, we will explore movement, meditation, song, and discussion of how yoga philosophy can apply to our daily lives.
Join us in taking time to pause, become aware, and build appreciation for who you are and what you offer the world. With the many demands of our lives and events in the world around us, it can sometimes feel hard to know what to do with challenging experiences that overwhelm, sadden, isolate, and bring stress.
These experiences can weigh heavy on us and impact our ideas about ourselves as well as our relationships with others. The upside? Yoga is a practice that reminds us of the deep parts of ourselves that are wise and unconditionally loving.
Yoga offers the opportunity to tune in to ourselves, to learn about the conditioned patterns in our minds and behaviors, and to nurture ourselves from a place of kindness rather than a place of deficit and judgment.
